Popcorn Initiative Rules
- Roll initiative normally at the start of combat.
- The creature with the highest initiative result acts first.
- After a creature finishes its turn, it chooses who acts next.
- The chosen creature must not have already acted this round.
- A creature may choose an ally or an enemy.
Taking the Initiative
- The creature must still be eligible to act, meaning it has not already acted this round.
End of the Round
- Once every creature has acted, the round ends.
- The last creature to act chooses who starts the next round.
- The last creature to act cannot choose itself to start the next round.
Ongoing Effects
- AoE and ongoing effects work normally.
- Effects that trigger at the start or end of a creature’s turn still trigger at the start or end of that creature’s actual turn.
FVTT: Currentfly FVTT has a lancer style initiative mod but the responsability to allow for someone to take the initiative all falls under the DM. Since the Carousel combat tracker is so well built, I think the only thing missing is a button to allow the current player when they hit the END TURN button to decide who they want to give to pass the iniative to (including enemies currently in combat).
